What is the Indonesian Youth Mandarin Olympiad 2025?
The Indonesian Youth Mandarin Olympiad 2025 is a national Mandarin competition organized by Smart Kids Indonesia, based on the YCT (Youth Chinese Test) standard. It assesses Listening & Reading skills in line with the four YCT levels. The competition is designed for elementary to secondary school students who wish to measure their Mandarin ability at a national level.

Medal Winners (Gold / Silver / Bronze)
- Basic Requirements for Medal Nomination
- Participants can only be nominated for Gold, Silver, or Bronze medals if they meet the minimum passing score:
- YCT 1–3: at least 120 points out of 200 total points.
- YCT 4: at least 180 points out of 300 total points.
- Participants scoring below the minimum passing score will automatically be categorised as Non‑Winners (Participants) and will only be entitled to the prize corresponding to that category.
- Participants can only be nominated for Gold, Silver, or Bronze medals if they meet the minimum passing score:
- Determination of Ranking
- Participants who meet the passing score will be ranked based on:
- Highest score.
- In case of a tie, the fastest completion time will be used as the tie‑breaker.

- Participants who meet the passing score will be ranked based on:
- Maximum Quota of Winners
- Each YCT level has a maximum quota of medal recipients as follows:
- Gold Medal: maximum 10 participants
- Silver Medal: maximum 10 participants
- Bronze Medal: maximum 10 participants
- The number of winners in each category may be fewer than the maximum quota if fewer participants meet the minimum passing score.
- Each YCT level has a maximum quota of medal recipients as follows:
- Additional Provisions
- If the number of participants who pass a certain level is fewer than 30, the number of winners is not required to reach 30.
- A medal category may remain vacant if no participant meets the minimum score.
- The committee’s decision is final and cannot be contested.
🎖 Special Award: Youngest Achiever Award
In addition to winners based on the highest scores, a Youngest Achiever Award is given at each YCT level.

Selection Criteria:
The award is given to the youngest among the Gold/Silver/Bronze winners at each YCT level. The selected winner must provide an official ID (such as a Student ID Card or Passport) that states their name and birthdate via WhatsApp to the admin for verification. If the winner cannot provide valid proof (ID/Passport), they will be disqualified and declared ineligible for the prize.

A special appreciation for schools or learning institutions with the highest number of winners.

Selection Criteria:
- To be eligible for the Best Institution Award, participants must be registered through an institution. Payment may be made either individually or by the institution.
- Determination based on the total number of medals (Gold, Silver, Bronze) earned across all YCT levels.
- In case of a tie, the institution with the highest number of Gold medals will be declared the winner.
Competition Format
The test consists of two sections: Listening & Reading.
Competition Structure of the Indonesian Youth Mandarin Olympiad 2025
- Mode of competition: online via Zoom & Google Form.
- All questions are multiple‑choice.
- Supervision via Zoom (camera must be on).
- The question link will be shared through Zoom chat.
- Time is limited according to each level.
- The test begins with the listening section, followed by the reading section.
- A stable internet connection is required.

Registration Fees
- YCT 1: Rp 120,000
- YCT 2: Rp 160,000
- YCT 3: Rp 200,000
- YCT 4: Rp 248,000
Optional Prize Claim Fee
- Packing fee: Rp 15,000 + shipping cost to the participant’s address.
- If participants/winners do not wish to receive physical prizes, they are not required to claim them.
- The prize claim fee can be paid during registration or after the winner announcement.

Complete the registration form and make the payment as instructed. - Receive Confirmation & Get Ready for the Competition!
Once your payment is successful, you will receive confirmation along with the competition guidelines.
Online Practice Test
📝 1 set of practice questions will be available in the participant’s account 24 hours after payment until the competition day.
Competition Technical Guidelines
Before the Competition
- Device: Laptop/computer with a camera.
- Internet Connection: Stable for smooth participation.
- Attire: Neat and proper.
Competition Mechanism
- Participants will receive the competition question link via Zoom chat.
- The Zoom link will be shared 2 days before the competition.
- Questions must be completed within the allotted time according to the chosen level.
- The Zoom display name must be the participant’s name.
Tiebreak (If Scores Are the Same)
- The fastest completion time will determine the winner.
- The committee’s decision is final.
Fair Play System
- Collaboration with others during the competition is strictly prohibited.
- Any indication of cheating will result in disqualification.
FAQ
Q1: Is this competition officially from YCT?
A1: No. This is an independent competition based on YCT standards but not an official Hanban exam.
Q2: Will participants receive a certificate?
A2: Yes. All participants will receive an English e‑certificate of participation.
Q3: What if I win but do not want to claim the physical prize?
A3: Claiming physical prizes is optional. Winners will still receive an achievement e‑certificate without additional cost.
Q4: What happens if my internet connection is interrupted?
A4: No extra time will be given. Participants are responsible for ensuring a stable connection before the competition begins.
Q5: Are the questions equivalent to YCT?
A5: Yes. All questions are designed according to the difficulty level of each YCT stage.
